Helen V. Fryc, 93

ADAMS -- Helen Victoria Fryc, 93, formerly of 55 Orchard St., died Tuesday at Mount St. Vincent Healthcare Center in Holyoke. Born in Adams on June 23, 1908, daughter of Francis and Wiktoria Balawender Matuszak, she attended local schools and later graduated from Drury High School in North Adams. She was employed in the power transformer department at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield and retired in 1973. Previously, she had worked for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams. Mrs. Fryc was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Kostka Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She was a volunteer for the parish picnics and bazaars for many years. Her husband, Walter J. Fryc, whom she married Oct. 15, 1930, died Feb. 10, 1974. She leaves a daughter, Frances Goddeau of Ludlow; two sons, Walter H. Fryc of Odenton, Md., and Joseph Fryc of East Greenwich, R.I.; 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. A son, Michael Fryc, died July 21, 1954, and a daughter, Virginia Stokes, died March 2, 2000. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Helen Fryc will be Saturday at 9:15 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus' Kostka Church, celebrated by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Kostka Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home.
