Joseph Menatti, 78

LEE, Mass. — Joseph P. Menatti, 78, of Marble Street died Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

He was born in Lee on December 30, 1937, the son of Peter and Madeline Coiatelli Menatti and was educated in the Lee Schools.

Mr. Menatti had worked at the Lee Lime Corporation after his schooling and then for Petricca Construction as a cement mixer driver. He then returned to Lee Lime, where he was a Kiln Tender, retiring in 2000.

He enjoyed polka dancing, hunting, gardening, farming and being with his family.

Joe leaves his wife, the former Patricia A. Gavin, whom he married June 24, 1967; his sons, Michael J. Menatti and his wife Wendy of Lee and Dean J. Caccamo and his wife Donna of Cary N.C.; his two daughters, Debra C. Lang and her husband Kevin of Cary, N.C., and Dawn C. Perrin and her husband Raymond of Napa, Calif.; one brother, Victor Menatti of Pittsfield; three sisters, Marie L’Heureux of Salisbury, Mass., his twin sister Josephine Moguin and her husband Norman of Springfield and Ann O’Brien of Lee; 11 grandchildren, Kyle and his wife Kaitlyn, Ian, Sean and McKenzie Lang, Keegan, Chelsea, Meghan and Darby Perrin, and Edward, Sofia and Belle Caccamo; and one great-grandchild, Kaden Joseph Lang. 

He was predeceased by his brother Ernest and his sister Victoria Roddy.

Funeral notice: The funeral for Joseph Menatti will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 8:15 a.m. from the Kelly Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. 

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, June 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make donations to St. Mary’s Church in care of the Kelly Funeral Home at 3 Main St. Lee, MA 01238.
