Melvina J. Haddad, 96

NORTH ADAMS -- Melvina J. Haddad, 96, of North Holden Street died Wednesday evening at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on March 3, 1905, daughter of George and Minnie Bakoczy Joseph, she attended local schools. A homemaker, Mrs. Haddad was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis' Church and a longtime member of the Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary. She also was a longtime member of the North Adams Lebanese Social Club. Her husband, Harry Haddad, whom she married March 3, 1924, in Springfield, died in 1973. She leaves a daughter, Alice Joseph of North Adams; a son, George H. Haddad of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Melvina Joseph Haddad will be Saturday morning at 8:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home. Survivors include four grandchildren, Christina Wegrzyn, R.N., Barbara Haddad, Donna Garner and Kimberly Reynolds, and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers predeceased her, Edward Joseph and Nash Nejame.
