Jeffrey A. Leonard II, 31

BENNINGTON, Vt. — Jeffrey Alex Leonard II, 31, a resident of Main Street, passed away suddenly Monday, June 13, 2016, at his home. 

Jeff was born in Bennington on April 16, 1985, the son of Jeffrey A. Leonard and Ann M. Burdick. Jeffrey grew up in Petersburg, N.Y., where he attended school, graduating form Berlin Jr/Sr High School. There he excelled at baseball. Jeffery was a talented individual when it came to sports. 

His true love was hunting and fishing, a true sportsman. His true passion was being a great father to his children and instilling the passion to hunt and fish in all of their hearts. His boys meant the world to him and was a terrific brother, son, partner and all around friend. Jeffrey touched many lives and had a lot of friends. If you ever met Jeffrey he would leave you feeling good about yourself. In his 31 years on earth, Jeffery was a blessing to all he came into contact with he will be greatly missed by his friends and family. 

Jeff also worked as an electrician for the family business with his step-father Don Betit. 

Jeff is survived by his father Jeffrey A. Leonard and step-mother Kim; his mother Ann M. Betit and step-father Don Betit; grandparents Leland and Ruth Burdick of Hoosick Falls and Phyliss and Ralph Leonard of Pownal; sons Evan, Carson and Sylas Leonard; fiance Mattea Miller of Bennington; brother Christian Betit of Brattleboro; sisters Tia Melville and her husband Jacob of Pownal and Kaylee Leonard and her fiance Matt Moore, also of Pownal; and nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Virginia Harris. 

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Jeffrey will be held Monday, June 20, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Hoosick Falls Community Alliance Church. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley, Meadowlawn Cemetery in Petersburg. 

Visiting hours will be held Monday June 20, 2016, at the Hoosick Falls Community Alliance Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. If friends desire memorial gifts in Jeffrey's memory may be made to the Jeffrey A.
