Laurie J. Lemieux, 50

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Laurie Jean (Brooks) Lemieux, 50, of North Adams died Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness.

She was born in North Adams on August 15, 1965, daughter of Joan (McCann) Brooks and the late Robert Brooks. She attended schools in New Jersey.

Laurie was the owner and operator with her late husband of a local catering business. She also was employed at Inland Management for Harry Patten and later as a home health aide.

Her husband, Dennis Mitchell Lemieux, whom she married in 1998, died in 2005.

Survivors include one daughter, Christina Smith; two sons, Daniel Smith and his fiancée Erin Phaneuf and Steven Smith; two grandchildren, Stella Smith and Addison Smith; one brother, David Brooks; and her longtime companion Brian Kelly and his son Connor.

She was predeceased by one sister and one brother, Barbara Rivera and Robert Brooks.

Funeral notice: Calling hours for Laurie Lemieux will be Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to the funeral home.
