GREAT BARRINGTON -- Rue G. Staton, 52, of Dresser Avenue died yesterday at home. Born in Darlington, S.C., on July 23, 1949, daughter of Ruby Dolford Ellerbee Hargraves Fuller and the late Wisdom Ellerbee, she attended schools in Newark, N.J., and graduated from Southside High School. She moved to Great Barrington in 1970. For the last seven years, Mrs. Staton was employed as a supervisor at Eagleton School. Prior to that, she had been employed at Brookside School and at the former Vesper Hills. She attended services at the Great Barrington Kingdom Hall, Jehovah's Witnesses. She and her husband, Thomas Staton, were married in July 1988 in Dillon, S.C. Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a daughter, Evelyn Ellerbee of Springfield; a son, William Ellerbee of Great Barrington; a brother, Wisdom Ellerbee of Great Barrington; six sisters, Barbara Hargraves and Gloria Staton, both of Darlington, Celestine Ellerbee, Carolyn Ellerbee and Wilhamenia Ellerbee, all of Springfield, and Vermell Durant of Pittsfield, and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Rue G. Staton, 52, of Great Barrington died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, at home after battling with cancer. The funeral will be Thursday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, with Brother Joseph Lemieux of Great Barrington Kingdom Hall, Jehovah's Witnesses, officiating. Calling hours are from 3 until 6 Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the funeral home.
