Catherine Nault, 94

GREAT BARRINGTON -- Catherine Nault, 94, formerly of 899 South Main St., died Saturday at Timberlyn Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided since December 1999. Born in Sheffield on April 27, 1907, daughter of Vincent and Theresa Re Castagnetti, she moved to Great Barrington as an infant and attended the former Dewey Elementary School and the former Searles High School. She had lived in Sarasota, Fla., and California. She returned to Great Barrington in 1990. She and her husband, Medric J. Nault, owned and operated the former Cove Inn on Stockbridge Road from 1940 until selling the restaurant in 1950. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church in Great Barrington. Her husband, whom she married on Sept. 26, 1928, in St. Peter's Church, died July 8, 1986. She leaves a son, Richard E. Nault of Becket, and two sisters, Christine Guarnieri of Great Barrington and Pauline Couse of Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours are Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 4 until 7 at HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME. The funeral for Catherine Nault will be Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Church at 10 conducted by the Rev. William Wallis, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery. Donations may be made in Catherine's memory to the St. Peter's Door Fund or to Southern Berkshire Elderly Transportation in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
