Peter J. Grillone, 94

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Peter Joseph Grillone, 94, of North Adams died on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016 at North Adams Commons, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 18, 1922, in Waterloo, N.Y., a son of the late Anthony and Mary (Qualtare) Grillone. He attended schools in North Adams and graduated from St. Joseph’s High School. He was a veteran of World War II and served proudly in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Grillone was last employed at North Adams State College as a custodian. Before that he worked at Strong Hewat Woolen Mill. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and was a member of the Post 125 American Legion. He enjoyed trips to Saratoga.
His wife, the former Anna Veronica Falco, died on October 17, 2002; they were married on October 19, 1947.
He leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, including Mary Lou Accetta and Angela Lora. He was predeceased by four brothers and one sister, Leo, Dominick Frank, Rocco and Natalie “Connie” Accetta.
Funeral notice: A funeral home service to celebrate the life of Peter Grillone will be on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours are on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Donations may be made to the American Legion Scholarship Fund through the funeral home.
