George Forbes, 60

WEST STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — George "Joe" Forbes, 60, of West Stockbridge, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at BayState Medical Center in Springfield as a result of injuries received in an auto-truck accident in Dalton on Aug. 24.

He was born in Pittsfield on March 19, 1956, the son of Patricia A. Blache Forbes and the late George M. Forbes. He was a 1974 graduate of Lee High School. Joe was a self-employed carpenter, starting his business in Lee in 1990 under the name of Carpentry ETC.

Besides his mother of Stockbridge, he leaves his three brothers, Michael "Mike" Forbes of Lee, Raymond "Squeege" Forbes of Lee and Thomas "Tom" Forbes and his wife Coke of Stockbridge; and two nephews, Scott and Jared.

Funeral notice: Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Kelly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A reception celebrating Joe's life will held Saturday, Sept. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Tom and Coke’s home, 9 Glendale Middle Road, Stockbridge. All are invited to stop by and share their memories of Joe with the family.
