David P. Burke, 56

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mr. David P. Burke, 56, of Gansevoort, N.Y., lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016.

David was born on January 6, 1960 in Wilmington, Del. He was the son of the late Richard Perry Burke and Joan (Morris) Burke.

David was the owner and operator of American Classic Decor remodeling company in North Adams until relocating to New York in 1993. He was then employed as the Northeast Regional Service Representative for Great Lakes Windows.

He was a rock and jazz music enthusiast, enjoyed kayaking and spending time with his family and friends. David believed in living life to the fullest and was passionate in everything he did. His greatest passion was riding his motorcycle and he truly "lived to ride."

He is survived by his former wife, the former Penny M. Wright of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; his children, Brooke Burke of Attleboro, Mass., and Justin Burke, Siobhan Burke and Gunther Burke, all of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; his brother, Richard M. Burke and his wife Linda Sue Burke of Adams, Mass.; several cousins; and a multitude of friends.

Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 11:30 a.m. in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, McKinley Square (Rte. 8) Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams.

Calling hours at the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, will be Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, Northeast New York branch, at 3 Washington Square, Albany, N.Y. 12205.
