Gertrude Pidcoe, 75

LENOX -- Gertrude C. Pidcoe, 75, of 31 Howell Road, Picayune, Miss., formerly of Lenox, died Oct. 6 at home. Born in Westford on Jan. 24, 1926, daughter of Paul F. and Anna Louise Strandberg Smith, she attended schools there and graduated from Westford Academy. A resident of Lenox for 25 years, she left the area in 1993. Mrs. Pidcoe worked for the Army during World War II as a licensed mechanic at Fort Devens. She was employed by Dufour Bros. as a school bus driver for many years, retiring in 1992 as manager of school bus operations in Lenox. Mrs. Pidcoe was a Methodist. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Weinman Pidcoe. She leaves two sons, Charles L. Pidcoe of Picayune and Stephen G. Pidcoe of Pittsfield; three daughters, Paulette L. Silva of Limington, Maine, Kathy A. Guercio of Cheshire and Wendy O. Cimini of Picayune; three sisters, Hazel Cox of North Carolina, Ethel Boivert of Lowell and Patricia Cripps of Hudson, N.H.; a brother, David Smith of Crystal River, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
