Irene Nettleton, 96

BECKET -- Irene Nettleton, 96, of Melbourne, Fla., formerly of Becket and Lee, died Sept. 15. Born in Delaney, W.Va., on Nov. 20, 1904, she was the daughter of Ernest and Hannah Little McGranahan. Mrs. Nettleton was a Realtor in Becket and a retired medical secretary. She attended Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne,and was a member of the Massachusetts Society of the Descendants of the Mayflower. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing and collecting antiques. She and her first husband, Walter Hoffman, were married for 35 years until his death in 1974. Her second husband, Albert Nettleton, whom she married May 17, 1975, died June 12, 1985. She leaves her daughter, Mary Louise Rumpp of Santa Clara, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Virginia Gaskill of Williamstown and Dorothy "Dixie" Willis of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
