Hilda Kaminsky, 81

GREAT BARRINGTON -- Hilda Kaminsky, 81, of Mahaiwe Street died Tuesday. Born in Newark, N.J., on Dec. 28, 1919, daughter of Jacob and Ruby Diamond Hoffer, she graduated from Irving High School and Coleman Business College. She moved to the Berkshires in 1974. She was employed by the former Chifferobe and Catherine's Chocolates. Mrs. Kaminsky and her husband were founding members of Hevreh of South Berkshire, and enjoyed participating in and developing Hevreh. Her husband, Solomon Kaminsky, whom she married Oct. 30, 1938, in Newark, died June 21, 1998. She leaves two sons, Burt Sky of Richmond and Roy Kaminsky of Toms River, N.J.; a daughter, Myrna Bardi of Simi Valley, Calif.; a brother, Raymond Hoffer of West Orange, N.J.; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lola Post, who died Sept. 12, 1990. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. at Hevreh of South Berkshire, conducted by Rabbi Deborah Zecher, spiritual leader. Burial will follow in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. The family will have a memorial period at the home of Burt Sky, 128 Turkey Trot Road, Richmond, Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5 until 9 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 4 until 7 p.m. Contributions in Mrs. Kaminsky's memory may be made to Hevreh of South Berkshire through the FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
