PITTSFIELD -- Hilda G. Johnsen, 96, formerly of Columbia Arms, died Tuesday. Born in Northampton on May 29, 1905, daughter of George F. and Andrea Thompson Paul, she attended Northampton schools. She moved with her family at age 14 to Staten Island, N.Y. . After her marriage to the Rev. Alfred Johnsen on April 24, 1927, she worked with her husband, an Assemblies of God pastor, and served ministries in Maine, Minnesota, Vermont, New York, Florida and New Jersey. She also served as an evangelist in the British West Indies, Canada and Norway. They concluded their ministry at Trinity Church in Lakeland, Fla. They moved to Pittsfield in 1980. After her husband's death on Oct. 18, 1983, she attended the North Pownal (Vt.) Congregational Church. She leaves two daughters, Virginia V. Griffin of Pittsfield and Astrid Bruserud of Norway; two sisters, Bertha Hintze of Cedar Glen Lakes, Whiting, N. J., and Viola Olson of Pittsfield; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Johnsen will be held Friday, Oct. 19, at 9 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, with the Rev. Dean M. Nowotny, pastor of Christian Assembly Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home will be today from 4 to 8 p.m.
