Adelaide Schwarz

Adelaide B. Schwarz, 87, formerly of Mill River and more recently of Great Barrington, died Tuesday at the Great Barrington Rehab and Nursing Center, where she had resided since 1994. Born in Bordentown, N.J., on Dec. 8, 1913, daughter of James G. and Adelaide G. Burke Chamberlain, she attended schools there and graduated from Palmyra (N.J.) High School. She moved to Mill River in 1955 and resided there for 30 years until moving to Dehon Road in Great Barrington in 1987. Mrs. Schwarz was employed as postmaster in Mill River for 20 years, retiring in 1987. She leaves a daughter, Lois Webster of Broad Brook, Conn.; three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service for the late Adelaide B. Schwarz will be held on Friday, Oct. 26, at 11:30 at the Sheffield Center Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
