Doris J. St. Pierre

Doris J. St. Pierre, 80, of 71 Paine St., Worcester, and the Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester, died Sunday in St. Vincent Hospital at the Worcester Medical Center. She was the mother of Donald E. Saint-Pierre of Pittsfield. Born in Worcester on July 27, 1921, daughter of William and M. Theresa Dunn Steere, she graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1941. An active member of St. Bernard's Parish, she was a longtime Pack 52 Cub Scout den leader, a longtime volunteer with the parish center youth programs and a member of its Rosary Sodality. She was an accomplished knitter and crocheter. Besides her son of Pittsfield, she leaves her husband of 58 years, Edmond I. St. Pierre; two daughters, Sheila M. Hokanson of Charlton City and Elizabeth A. Ritzi of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday, Nov. 2, from ATHY MEMORIAL HOME, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, with a Mass at 10 in St. Bernard's Church, 228 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 8. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Bernard's Church Restoration Fund, 228 Lincoln St., Worcester, MA 01605.
