Helen Morawiec

Helen M. Morawiec, 74, of 1 McKinley St. died Sunday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she was admitted Oct. 28. Born in Adams on Aug. 7, 1927, daughter of John and Mary Niziolek Adamczyk, she graduated from the former Adams High School in 1946. Mrs. Morawiec was employed as a medical secretary at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 40 years, retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality. She also was a member of the Polish Women's Alliance, the Adams Senior Citizens, the St. Michael's Society, and the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs. She enjoyed knitting and traveling. She leaves her husband, Paul J. Morawiec, whom she married June 25, 1949; a brother, Edmund Adamczyk of Adams, and a sister, Monica Dziadzio of Adams. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter Adamczyk and Frank "Benny" Adamczyk, and two sisters, Stella Zieminski and Jane Jozefiak. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in St. Stanislaus' Kostka Church, Adams, by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus' Church or to the St. Stanislaus' School Technology Fund through the funeral home.
