Floyd J. Beckwith

Floyd J. Beckwith, 68, of Spring Hill, Fla., formerly of Great Barrington, died Nov. 6 at home. Born in Housatonic on Feb. 1, 1933, son of Paul and Hedwig Stehlin Beckwith, he moved to Florida 16 years ago. A Vietnam War veteran, he retired from the Air Force after 21 years of service. He received a Bronze Star for his actions during the war. Mr. Beckwith was a member of St. Francis' Church in Spring Hill and a member of the Spring Hill Archery Club, where he was an instructor. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He leaves his wife, Jane; three daughters, Floydette Nesti of Pittsfield, Virginia Bentley of Homosassa, Fla., and Mary Jane Harris of Bushnell, Fla.; four brothers, Paul Beckwith of New Hampshire, and Ernest Beckwith, Phillip Beckwith and Lawrence Beckwith, all of Great Barrington; two sisters, Christine Touponce of Arizona and Joan Crerar of Lee; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
