Arnold D. Hall

Arnold D. Hall, 85, of East Otis Road died yesterday at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Born in Otis on May 30, 1916, son of William D. and Ida E. Humason Hall, he attended Otis and Lee schools and was a 1933 graduate of Lee High School. He graduated from Westfield Trade in 1935. He served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Hall joined his father in the operation of Hall's General Store in East Otis, which also held the post office, where his mother was postmaster. His mother retired in 1964 and he then became postmaster. He also assisted in the operation of the store until his retirement in 1985. His closest survivors are several cousins, including Donald A. Chaffee Sr. of East Otis. The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with the Rev. John W. McKinstry of Lee, officiating. Burial will follow in the Otis Cemetery. Visiting hours at Kelly Funeral Home will be Thursday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Shriners Hospital in care of the Kelly Funeral Home.
