Ida Martina Drumm

Ida Martina Drumm, 93, of 48 Seekonk Road in Great Barrington died on Sunday, January 7, 2001 at Fairview Hospital. Born on May 8, 1907 in Great Barrington, daughter of the late David and Nettie Mooney Dewkett. She attended the former Searles High School and the former Hillcrest School of Nursing. A homemaker for most of her life, Ida enjoyed gardening and feeding a wide variety of wild birds. She was also known for her homemade jams and jellies. Her husband John Howard Drumm, whom she married in 1926, died on October 7, 1966. She is survived by three daughters, Ruth Verones of Alford, Eunice Anson of North Egremont, and Kathleen Potash of Great Barrington Two sons: John H. Drumm, Jr. of Great Barrington and Arnold Drumm of Stuyvestant, New York Also fourteen grandchildren, including a grandson Norman L MacLellan of Pittsfield, 21 great grandchildren and one great grand child. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at the Hickey-Roy Funeral Home with Rev. Charles VanAusdall of the First Congregational Church Officiating. The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 9, 2001 from 4 pm until 7 p.m. at the Hickey-Roy Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance in care of the Hickey-Roy Funeral Home 33 South Street. Great Barrington, MA 01230.
