PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Janet Carol Eddy, 71, of Pittsfield, passed away April 13, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center. 

She was born January 27, 1947, to the late Douglas H. and Dorothy E. VanOrman Eddy. 

She was a 1968 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Janet was a member of Emmanuel Community Church. She worked most recently at Marshall’s Department Store. She enjoyed traveling, doing jigsaw puzzles and reading. She also loved taking care of her cat and dog. She loved to create cards and enjoyed keeping her diaries from 1964 to present. 

She leaves behind two brothers, Lynn Eddy and his wife Patricia of Pittsfield and Neil Eddy of Pittsfield; nieces and nephews, Matthew Eddy and Kerri Najimy, Marianna Eddy, Sarah Eddy, Meghan Eddy, and Timothy Eddy; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Sheree, Molly, Sydney, and Joseph; and her great-great-nephews, Zachary and Anthony. 

She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Catherine Eddy. 

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Janet will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Berkshire County ARC in care of the funeral home.
