Mary V. Brown

Mary Victoria Brown, 81, of 41 Notch Road died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Cynthia Morin of West Castleton, Vt. Born in North Adams on Dec. 30, 1919, daughter of John and Louise Kisiel Tarsa, she moved to Adams at the age of 9 and attended schools in Adams and North Adams. She graduated from the former Adams High School. Mrs. Brown was employed as an office clerk for the town of Adams for many years, working in the offices of the treasurer-collector, Board of Health and Public Welfare. She retired 20 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and a member of Burnette-Bednarz Post 1995 Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary. Her husband, Frank L. Brown Jr., whom she married Sept. 15, 1945, died Sept. 23, 1996. Besides her daughter, she leaves two other daughters, Penny Dymek of Framingham and Susan Carlino of Trumbull, Conn.; a brother, Raymond Tarsa of Adams; two sisters, Helen Tarsa and Veronica Burnette, both of Adams; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Mathew Tarsa, Walter Tarsa, and former Adams Police Chief John Tarsa, and a sister, Mary Tarsa. The funeral for Mary Tarsa Brown will be Saturday, Nov. 24, at 9:15 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Friday, Nov. 23, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be to the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, or to hospice in Berkshire County through the funeral home.
