Emilia Vazquetelles

Emilia L. Vazquetelles, 97, of Stockbridge Road died yesterday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Isabela, Puerto Rico, on Nov. 2, 1904, daughter of Onofre and Pascasia Galvan Lopez, she was educated there. Mrs. Vazquetelles moved to New York City in 1950, where she worked as a designer and seamstress in the garment/fashion industry. She retired from Royal Lace Co. in 1970 and moved to Great Barrington in 1977. She returned to Puerto Rico in 1984 and moved to Lee in 1997. She enjoyed gardening, cultivating roses, spinning lace and reading. She and her husband, Victor Vazquetelles, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary Nov. 18. They were married in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter Wenda Ramos of Lee; a son, Nomar Vazquetelles of Tuxedo Park, N.Y., and two grandchildren. The funeral will be in Puerto Rico. The family will receive friends at the Hernadaz-Rivera Funeral Home in Aquadilla, Puerto Rico, on Thursday, Nov. 22. The funeral and burial will be held on Friday in Puerto Rico. There are no local services. Those who desire may make memorial donations in Emilia L.
