Diane E. Vincent

Diane E. Vincent, 49, of 89 Friend St. died Thursday afternoon at home after a long illness. Born in Springfield on July 18, 1952, daughter of the late Robert J. and Ruth Huff O'Dell, she moved to Great Barrington as a child and attended schools there. She moved to Savoy in 1975 and to Adams in 1977. Mrs. Vincent was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark's Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and crocheted afghans for church bazaars. A Girl Scout leader, she organized daisy troops for several years. She also was a volunteer advocate for special-needs students at C.T. Plunkett Elementary School. She and her husband, Gordon Vincent, were married April 24, 1971. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Jeffrey K. Vincent of Adams; four daughters, Mae Valois of North Adams, and Kristy Vincent, Anna Vincent and Megan Vincent, all of Adams; two brothers, Ronald O'Dell of Savoy and David O'Dell of Geneva, Ohio; a sister, Debra O'Dell of Stephentown, N.Y. She leaves seven grandchildren, Rahmer, Gabrielle and Arianna Vincent, Tyler Girard, and Spencer, Morgan and Kennedy Valois; her son-in-law, George Valois; her daughter-in-law, Susan Vincent; Tyler's dad, Joseph Girard; her mother-in-law, Harriet Vincent, and her cousin Barbara Irwin. A Memorial Service will be held tomorrow, Nov. 27, at 1 at St. Mark's Church, Adams. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME in Adams is in charge of arrangements.
