LEE, Mass. — Thomas H. Grande, 82, previously of Lee, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the Springside Nursing Care Facility in Pittsfield.

Born in Great Barrington, Mass., on March 3, 1926, he was son of Francis and Angelina Partenope Grande. Thomas was raised in Stockbridge and was a member of the former Williams High School, Class of 1954.

After high school Mr. Grande served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. After the military he worked at the Pownal Vermont Tanery then for the Massachusetts Highway Department from which he retired, as a resident engineer, after 17 years of service.

Mr. Grande had been a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club. He enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family, especially traveling all over western Massachusetts watching his grandchild play sports.

Mr. Grande leaves behind his son, David, and his wife, Amy, of Pittsfield; his brother, Frank Grande, of Pittsfield; two sisters, Marie Danaher of Lee and Bette Rosse of Pittsfield; and three grandchildren: Kyle, Ryan and Ava Grande.

Mr. Grande was predeceased by his son, Thomas, in 2005; as well as his sister, Joan Gibbons.

Funeral notice: In keeping with Mr. Grande’s wishes, services will be private for the family.
