LEE, Mass. — Gloria M. Griffin, 88, of Lee died Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Great Barrington.

Born in Lee on March 31, 1930, she was the daughter of Marco and Diane Piccini Buffoni. She was educated in the Lee schools and was a graduate of Lee High School, class of 1949. Besides raising her family, Mrs.Griffin worked as a housekeeper for several families in Lee through the years. 

She was a member of the Sons of Italy and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. She had also been a member of Our Lady’s Oratory in earlier years.

Mrs. Griffin leaves behind two sons, Tracy W. Griffin III and his wife Holly of Lenox Dale and Mark S. Griffin and his wife Sue of Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, Lawrence "Babe" Buffoni and his wife Marie of Lee; one sister, Vera Giarolo, of Lee; four grandchildren, Terri Heath and her husband Brian, Tracy Griffin and his partner Leanne Muir, Matthew Griffin, and Jennifer Vincellete and her husband Marc; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Brooklyn and Owen; as well as two step-great-grandchildren, Marco and Caroline.

Mrs. Griffin was predeceased in 1998 by her husband, Tracy W. Griffin Jr., whom she married June 20, 1953; five brothers, Raymond, Joseph, Everett, Harry and Mario Buffoni; and her sister, Lea Zavattaro.

Funeral notice: Funeral services for Gloria Griffin will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Daniel Cymer, Parochial Vicar. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. 

A visiting hour will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the Kelly Funeral Home in Lee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
