Anna Lashoones

Anna Belle Lashoones, 83, a former Southern Berkshire County resident, more recently of Marshfield, Vt., died Nov. 21 in Montepelier, Vt. Born in Ashley Falls on Jan. 29, 1918, daughter of Frank and Lina Dickens Feldblum, she attended local schools and graduated from the former Sheffield High School. She was an eight-year member of the 4-H Club while in school. She had resided in Marshfield since 1987. She married Charles Lashoones in 1934, and in 1935, they moved to the West Center section of West Stockbridge, where they resided until 1969. She was an active quarter-century member of the Alford Grange and a member of the local Visiting Nurse Association. She was active in local school programs, including the hot-lunch program and polio and dental clinics. She enjoyed gardening and had won many blue ribbons at the Great Barrington Fair for her produce, flowers and home-canned goods. She moved to Great Barrington in 1970 and then to Bolton, Conn., in 1979. Her husband died in 2000. She leaves two sons, Richard Lashoones of Marshfield, Vt., and Charles Lashoones Jr. of Milwaukee; a daughter, Rose DeAngelis of Granby, Conn.; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her two sisters, Edith Hewins of Westfield, who died in 1993, and Janetta Feldblum of Ashley Falls, who died in 1940. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, Great Barrington, with the Rev. William Wallis, pastor of St. Peter's Church, officiating. Following the service, Anna will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Elmwood Cemetery, Great Barrington. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home.
