Helen M. Wandrei, 97

ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Helen M. (Lepak) Wandrei, 97, of Adams died on Friday, January 25, 2019, at Williamstown Commons.

She was born in Adams on September 28, 1921, a daughter of the late Jan and Tekla (Golembiowska) Lepak. She attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.

Mrs. Wandrei was primarily a homemaker, but had worked for the former Sprague Electric Co., and the former Cornish Wire.

She was a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams.

Her husband, Charles L. Wandrei, whom she married on September 7, 1946, died on October 21, 1985.

She is survived by her three sons, Russell Wandrei and his wife Carol of Adams, Douglas Wandrei and his wife Dorothy of Adams and Charles Wandrei of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Virginia Cudak of Adams.

She was predeceased by three brothers and seven sisters.

Funeral notice: The funeral will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 9 a.m. from the Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will take place at a later date in the spring at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams.

Calling hours are Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Stanislaus Kostka School, 108 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220.

Please accept our sincere condolences on Mrs Wandrei's passing. I am so sorry that I missed the funeral. I have fond memories of her from our youth. She was a great and kind lady.
