Jacob Penziner

Jacob Penziner, 87, of West Road died Tuesday at Willowood Nursing Home. Born in Sandisfield on April 14, 1914, son of Ellis and Rose Penziner, he attended local schools and graduated from the former Sheffield High School. Mr. Penziner was a local cattle dealer for more than 50 years, and was well-known to local farmers and at the livestock auction in Hillsdale, N.Y. He leaves his wife, the former Sara Liss, whom he married in 1937 in Hillsdale; two daughters, Bernice Bournstein of Becket and Susan Lipton of Pittsfield, and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Rodney Penziner, who died in 2001. Funeral services will be held at Ahavath Shalom Cemetery, Thursday, Dec. 6, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rabbi David Small of Knesset Israel Congregation, Pittsfield, officiating.
