Palmira J. Bennett, 91, of Hyde Place died Friday at Fairview Commons Nursing Center in Great Barrington, where she had resided since 1994. Born in West Stockbridge on March 20, 1910, daughter of Joseph and Emma Rampelotto Eccher, she attended local schools. Mrs. Bennett did housekeeping for families who owned summer homes in the Alford and West Stockbridge areas. She also would travel with some of the families to New York City and Florida. She also had worked at GE for a short time. She was a former communicant of St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge and a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Lee. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and animals. Her husband, Samuel Bennett, whom she married Jan. 14, 1956, died in 1966. Mrs. Bennett is survived by her nephew, Robert Eccher, and his wife, Barbara, of Lee and a niece, Marilyn Wamback of Nashua, N.H. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 at St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow St. Patrick's Cemetery in West Stockbridge. There will be no calling hours. Friends wishing may make donations to Fairview Commons in care of KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee.
