Ellen L. Crocker

Ellen L. Crocker, 89, of 13 Marshall Ave. died Monday at Williamstown Commons. She was admitted on Nov. 30. Born in Adams on April 16, 1912, daughter of Harry E. Haff and Jessie O. Morton, she attended Adams schools and graduated from the former Adams High School in 1932. She also attended the University of Vermont and Bay Path Junior College. Mrs. Crocker was employed by Sprague Electric Co. and by the Adams Social Service Agency for 12 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of First Congregational Church of North Adams and the Church Choral Group. She also was a member of the senior citizens' golf, bridge and line dancing groups. Her husband, Allen C. Crocker, whom she married in November 1932, died Sept. 13, 1982. She leaves a son, Allan C. Crocker of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; a daughter, Barbara G. Sherman of Barre, Vt.; two brothers, Harry Haff of Lakeville and Robert Haff of Endwell, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be offered Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. in MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Liberty St., Adams. The official will be the Rev. Jill Graham, pastor of First Congregational Church of North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. The family will meet friends Friday from 4 to 7 in McBride Funeral Home. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Congregational Church's Hymnal Fund.
