Hermance Eulian

Hermance E. "Mitzi" Deshaies Eulian, 80, of 61 Rose Drive died yesterday at Hillcrest Commons. Born in St. Marie de Blandford, Quebec, Canada, on Dec. 22, 1920, daughter of Gideon and Eva Pipin Deshaies, she attended schools and in New Britain, Conn., where she moved as a young girl. She then moved to Pittsfield and attended Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Eulian was employed by the city of Pittsfield School Department cafeteria system, first at Taconic High School and later at Morningside Community School. She retired in 1989, with 20 years of service. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a volunteer for the annual Stewardship Appeal program for the Diocese of Springfield. She was past president of the cafeteria employees union local chapter and volunteered with the Bobby Kidney Sunshine Club. She leaves her husband of 58 years, William J. Eulian Sr., whom she married Feb. 4, 1943, in Notre Dame Church; a son, William J. Eulian Jr. of Waltham; five daughters, Christine M. Putnam of Northboro, Diane L. Wilson and Lauri A. Drake, both of Hinsdale, Jean A. Plumb of Portland, Ore., and Lisa M. Controy of Great Barrington, and four grandchildren. Calling hours at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Friday from 4 to 7. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:15 from the funeral home, followed with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Notre Dame Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Notre Dame Church in care of the funeral home.
