Ann M. Jones, 62

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ann M. Haley Jones, 62, of 7-D Riverview Drive, East Windsor, Conn., formerly of North Adams, died Saturday, June 29, 2019, at home. 

Born in North Adams on June 28, 1957, daughter of Mary Wilson Haley Hewitt of North Adams and the late Robert Haley, she grew up in North Adams and was a member of Drury High School's class of 1975.  

Ms. Jones worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. and later at North Adams Commons. After retirement, she moved to Palmer and later to Connecticut.

She had been a member of the former Bethel Pentecostal Church in North Adams. She loved going to tag sales and, in past years, enjoyed crocheting on plastic canvases. She also enjoyed having backyard cookouts with family and friends and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, family, and loved ones.

She was predeceased by her husband, David W. Jones Sr. 

Besides her mother, she leaves her longtime companion, Craig Mangold; her daughter, Julie Ann Rhodes of Thorndike; her son, David Jones Jr. of Charlemont; her brother, Robert D. Haley and his wife, Wanda, of North Adams and their two children, Jenna Beagle and Christy Superneau; six grandchildren, Samantha Shade, Dennis Shade, Caley Shade, Haley Shade, Aiden Jones and Frankie Jones, and a great-grandson, Alan Marc Provost IV.

A memorial service for Ms. Jones will be held Saturday, July 13, at from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, Conn.

Ann was a kind and generous neighbor and friend throughout my childhood. I have fond memories of going over her house with Sam and eating her famous peanut butter cookies. She was a strong woman, and my family and I will miss her.
