Richard Skinner

Richard E. Skinner, 48, of East Bridgewater, formerly of Lee, died Saturday at Brockton Hospital after a short illness. Born in Providence, R.I., son of Claire Dube Skinner and the late Richard Skinner, he graduated from Lee High School and attended the University of Massachusetts. A Navy veteran, he served on the USS Mount Baker from 1972 to 1976 as a radar operations specialist. At the time of his death, Mr. Skinner and his wife, the former Gail E. Kirker, had owned R/S Electronics Repairs and Satellite Installation in East Bridgewater for 10 years. He also held a master technician's license with the board of television and radio registration. He was a member of the East Bridgewater Business Association and enjoyed camping and fishing in Plymouth and on Cape Cod. Besides his wife and mother, of Lee, he leaves a daughter, Lauren Skinner of Chicopee; a brother, Theodore Skinner of Lee; four sisters, Cheryl Brown of Lee, Robin Vanca of California, Sharon Lewis of Texas and Rhoda Withers of Newport, R.I.; two stepdaughters, Natalie Richards of Middleboro and Erin Silva of East Bridgewater, and two grandchildren. The funeral will be from WALES-PROPHETT FUNERAL HOME, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, on Wednesday at 10. Services at First Congregational Church of Hanson will be at 11:30. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, Dec. 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Burial in Center Cemetery, East Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's memory to First Congregational Church of Hanson, 639 High St., Hanson, MA 02341.
