CHESHIRE, Mass. - Mary Jane (Lyon) Leab, 81, of Cheshire, Mass., died Monday, December 30, 2019, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on August 25, 1938, daughter of Edmonds D. and Augusta (Umbs) Lyon. She attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School.

She was last employed by Northern Berkshire Home Health Care Services for about 10 years. Before that, she was a school bus driver for JT Bus Lines for many years. 

Mary enjoyed many years of trips to York Beach, Maine, with her family.

She was the widow of Philip Duane Leab, who died May 8, 2013.

Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Dion of Cheshire, Donna McMahon of Adams and Diane Burdick of Cheshire; one son, Edward Bednarczyk of Ashburnham, Mass.; two stepchildren, Lisa Leab Andrews of Pittsfield and Steven Leab of Albany, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Lyon of Dalton, Mass.; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Stephen Bednarczyk and Richard Bednarczyk; and five brothers.
