Dorothy M. Zeitler

Dorothy M. Zeitler, 82, of 440 Maple St. died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Baldwinsville, N.Y., on Sept. 3, 1919, daughter of James and Florence Luney Roberts, she attended Albany (N.Y.) schools and graduated from the Albany School of Nursing. Mrs. Zeitler was employed as a registered nurse in hospitals in the Albany and Troy (N.Y.) area. After her marriage to William J. Zeitler on Dec. 24, 1942, she moved to Pittsfield and later to Hinsdale. She was employed by the Fanny Farmer candy store and by the Pittsfield office of Western Union until the office closed. She attended the Hinsdale Congregational Church and was an active political worker for the Democratic Party in the area. Her husband died in 1995. She leaves a son, William J. Zeitler of Hinsdale; three daughters, Billie Bardin of Dalton, Pam Z. Bennett of Hinsdale and Kathy Fuller of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. Following cremation, burial will be in the Maple Street Cemetery, Hinsdale, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ad Lib Independent Living Center, 215 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, in Mrs. Zeitler's memory. The BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, Dalton, is in charge of arrangements.
