Frances Charbonneau, 94

WALNUT CREEK, N.C. – Frances Kulpa Charbonneau, 94, of 614 Lake Shore Drive, formerly of Adams, Mass., died early Sunday morning, March 15, 2020, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Adams, Mass., she graduated from Berkshire Business College. Frances was a secretary for General Electric, and she later managed the local Mole Hole gift shop. 

She was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, where she served in the Ladies Guild. She was also a charter member of the Walnut Creek Country Club, member of the North Carolina Women’s Golf Association, and member of the American Contract Bridge League.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Charbonneau of Climax, Lois Rains and husband Steve of Goldsboro, Janet Charbonneau of Charleston, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Charbonneau of Jordan, Ark.; grandchildren Amanda MacDowell of Cary, Jennifer Strickland and husband Eddie of Greensboro, Jessica Legan and husband Joshua of Garner and Stephanie Carter of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Ava MacDowell of Cary, Lucy and Adam Strickland of Greensboro, Jenna Legan of Garner and Rains Carter of Raleigh; brother Edward Kulpa and wife Lillian of Adams, Mass., and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Charbonneau; sons Dennis and Paul Charbonneau; parents Martin and Julia Kulpa; and sister Julia Kurpiel.

Funeral notice: A Mass of Celebration for family and close friends will be held at Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.  The family will gather prior to the Mass of Celebration at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 1603 Edgerton Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
