Casimer Trela

Casimer Trela, 80, of 7 Water St. died Friday evening at North Adams Regional Hospital after being stricken at home. Born in Adams on Sept. 25, 1921, son of Francizek and Aniela Gora Trela, he attended local schools. A Marine veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific theater from March 1945 to April 1946. Mr. Trela was employed by GE for many years, retiring in 1984. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He leaves his wife, the former Helen Haroszy, whom he married Sept. 18, 1949; a son, Nicholas Trela of Adams; a daughter, Jane Duquette of Lanesboro; a brother, Edward Trela of Adams; a sister, Stacia Guettler of Pembroke, Fla.; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Roman Trela, and two sisters, Helen Kissel and Mary Romaniak. The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 9 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME in Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church by the Rev. John C. Chwalek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home, 6 Summer St., Adams. MA 01220.
