Rose A. Berti

Rose Ann Berti, 84, of 66 Furnace Hill died Monday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 2, 1917, daughter of Mario and Mildred Bondini Coppolino, she attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School. She had resided in Cheshire since 1937. A homemaker, she was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and a member of the Cheshire Senior Center. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cooking. She leaves her husband, Paul V. Berti, whom she married July 4, 1937; two daughters, Adela R. Wise of Newton and Paula Wechter of South Burwick, Maine; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Berti was predeceased by her loving grandson, Petty Officer 2nd Class Shawn Michael Wise, who died April 28, 1983, and by two brothers, Ned Coppolino and Dominic Coppolino, and by a sister, Mary E. Sheerin. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in the Cheshire Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church or to the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department, both in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire MA 01225, which is handing arrangements.
