HINSDALE, Mass. — Robert Edward "Bobby" Dyer Jr., 57, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, in the comfort of his home after a courageous battle against cancer.

Robert was born Aug. 18, 1962, the son of Robert Dyer and the late Patricia Grace Dyer. He was raised and educated in Pittsfield, graduating from Taconic High School. After high school, Robert worked for Virgilio Construction and the Town of Hinsdale before moving to South Carolina.

Robert was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the ocean, building guns, gardening and his car, a Dodge Challenger. Robert was also a big animal lover.

Besides his daughter, SarahJane P. Dyer, those left behind to cherish his memory are his father, Robert Edward Dyer Sr., and sisters, Deb Dyer Denker of Connecticut, Kathy Dyer Cormier of Hinsdale and Pam Dyer Catanzarita of South Carolina. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, his former wife and friend Sally Tiska Rice, many good friends and his four-legged canine companion Dixie, who was always at his side.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in Bobby's memory to the Berkshire Humane Society.
