Robert R. Sauve

Robert R. Sauve, 72, of Edwin Drive, Charlton, N.Y., a native of Adams, died Saturday at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y., after a short illness. Born on Sept. 15, 1929, son of Joseph and Matilda Marsh Sauve, he attended St. Bonaventure College and received a degree in education from the University of Maryland. Mr. Sauve served in the Air Force from 1956 to 1959 and attained the rank of captain. He continued his service as a reservist until 1969. He was employed by GE in Pittsfield, Phoenix and Charlton, retiring as a supervisor in purchasing with 43 years of service. He was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in East Glenville, N.Y., where he served as a eucharistic minister and as a member of the bereavement committee. He enjoyed handcrafting leather, stained-glass art and photography. He and his wife, the former Charlotte Gardner, were married April 28, 1956. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Robert R. Sauve Jr. of Hinsdale; two daughters, Michelle Sauve of Niskayuna, N.Y., and Susan McCann of Johnson City, N.Y., and two grandsons. The funeral will be tomorrow at 10:15 from GLENVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 9 Glenridge Road, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, East Glenville. Calling hours will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with full honors will be in Saratoga National Veterans Cemetery. The family has requested contributions be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY, 12308.
