He was a charter member of the First Congregational Church choir and later joined the First Baptist Church, where he received the 50-year member pin this past December. He was an active member of the church and served in many church offices and committees, including the Camp Ashmere Committee. During the 1960s, he served a term on the North Adams School Committee. He enjoyed his home, Camp Ashmere, hunting and fishing. He leaves his wife, the former Ermyn Russell, whom he married July 4, 1942; two sons, Russell Beall of New York, N.Y., and Robert Beall of Goffstown, N.H.; two daughters, Nancy Lorge of North Adams and Barbara Anti of Halifax; a brother, David M. Beall of Meriden, Conn., and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church, North Adams. The Rev. Joseph H. Decosta, pastor, and David Anderson, director of Christian education, will co-officiate. Burial will be private for family in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, North Adams, will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to either Camp Ashmere or the North Adams Public Library Building Fund, through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
