Linda Goodell, 66

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Linda Lee Goodell, 66, of North Adams died on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born on Aug. 9, 1954, in North Adams, a daughter of the late Francis W. and Emma Davis O'Dell Goodell. She attended schools in Williamstown and graduated McCann Technical High School. After high school, she joined the Air Force serving from 1973-1977 during the Vietnam War.

She worked for many years at Sweetbrook Nursing Home in Williamstown and was last employed at the YMCA in North Adams. Her many roles there included housekeeping, life guard and swim instructor.

Linda was a member of First Baptist Church in Williamstown. She was a Boy Scout leader and, in 1988, she was the director of aquatics at Chesterfield Scout Reservation. She was a proud veteran and member of the Williamstown American Legion Post 152.

Survivors include her son, Aaron Goodell and his wife, Ashley, of North Adams; six loving grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Dylan, Ryan, Kailee, and Jocelyn Goodell; a daughter-in-law, Sheri Goodell, of Clarksburg; a brother, Francis W. Goodell Jr. of New Hampshire, and a sister, Nancy J. Pontier of North Adams, as well as her aunts Laura O'Dell and Mary Burzimati, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her son Robert J. Goodell in 2018 and her brother Richard Goodell, aunt Margaret O'Dell and nephew Charles Goodell.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for family and friends will take place Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams are Monday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations are suggested for Soldier On or Northern Berkshire EMS through the funeral home. My condolences to Linda's family. I remember her from school and then we would run into each other later on in life.Linda was a caring loving woman who lived her best life and was always helping others .Rest in Peace dear one until we meet again .
