CHESHIRE, Mass. —  

Mr. Emil Richard Schaffrick, 83, of Cheshire, died on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Derby, Connecticut on October 13, 1937, a son of the late Emil and Doris (Bragdon) Schaffrick. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams High School.

Mr. Schaffrick worked for the Town of Cheshire Highway Department for many years until retiring in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, the former Eleanor Jarvis, whom he married on January 21, 1961; a son, Mark Schaffrick and his wife Karen of Windsor; a daughter, Tina Pitoniak and her husband Matthew of Cheshire; four grandchildren, Brittany Gale and her husband Will of Wyoming, Amie Goldstein and her husband Zachary of Connecticut, Stephanie Rapisarda and her husband Dylan of Cheshire and Nathan Pitoniak and his wife Katelynn of Pittsfield; one great granddaughter Hadley Anne Goldstein and by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his daughter Anne Marie Bury; his sister Lorraine Bell and by two brothers, Leroy and Richard Schaffrick.

A graveside service will be held at a later date in the spring. There are no calling hours.
