Julie A. Bernier, 67

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. —  Julie Anne (Green) Bernier, 67 of Lanesboro, MA, died at home on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, after a hard-fought battle with kidney disease. She was born in Sacramento, CA, on January 2, 1953, to parents Ralph Oliver and E. Ilene (O’Dell) Dodge. Julie’s family relocated to Florida, MA, where she graduated from Drury High School in 1970 before completing the cosmetology program at McCann Technical School. She worked until her retirement as a manager at the local Rite Aid. Julie was a woman of many interests who loved to make people laugh over a glass of fine wine and a delicious home-cooked meal. Along with her culinary talents and tastes, she was an avid reader, crafter, gardener, and played an impressive game of golf. She leaves behind her three children Tina Louise and her wife Danielle Emlaw of Great Barrington, MA; Terry Ilene and her husband Jason Carter Green of Florida, MA; and Chadd James Bernier and his husband Keith Patrick Lavery of Boston, MA, and their father, Ronald James Bernier. She is survived by two sisters, Janet (Tim) Bartlett of Florida, MA, and Cheryl (Robert) Collins of Newport, NH, and brother, Kevin (Judi) Dodge of Florida, MA, and nieces and nephews. She is survived by her grandchildren Kayla Anne, Isaac James, Jacob Aaron, Zackery Ryan, Kessa Leigh, Paige Evelynn, Jay Daniel, Audrey Grace, and Kayley Alexis. She was predeceased by her parents and by her brother, Percy Dodge.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Julie will be held on Friday, January 8th, from 4–7 PM at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247. She will be buried in Florida Church Cemetery in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the Sonsini Animal Shelter in Pittsfield, MA, in honor of Julie’s love of animals. Julie Bernier was a most kind hearted individual whom I had the privilege of knowing for over 20 years. She was a strong person with a kind and gentle spirit.
