Mary A. Pratt

Mary A. Pratt, 83, of 400 Washington Road died Monday at Hillcrest Commons. Born in County Leitrium, Ireland, on Dec. 24, 1918, daughter of John and Levera Gunshunan Slevin, she attended schools in Ireland. She became a U.S. citizen in 1958 and had resided in Berkshire County for 40 years, including in Lenox and Hinsdale. She graduated from the former St. Luke's Hospital Practical Nursing Program. Mrs. Pratt was employed as a licensed practical nurse for many nursing homes, retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Agnes' Church in Dalton. Her first husband, Gunnar Eng, is deceased. She leaves her husband, Donald Pratt, whom she married Sept. 1, 1964, in Lebanon, N.Y.; two daughters, Christine Roberts of Lenox and Valerie Eng; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her triplet daughters: Mary, who died in 1992; Marge, who died in 1993, and Martha, who died in 1998.
