NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Carole Ann Bonneville died peacefully at the age of 80 on March 3, 2021. She was the middle daughter of Antonio and Alice Cardinal Bonneville. Carole is survived by her younger sister, Anita Bonneville Martin (Terry) and her nieces Kathleen Merrigan (Michael Selmi), Kiersten Hall (Patrick), and Regan Martin, and her nephews John Merrigan (Louise) and Francis Merrigan. Carole is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Joan Bonneville Merrigan

Carole was a 1959 graduate of Drury High School, a graduate of Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH, and completed additional studies at the University of Vermont in Burlington. Carole spent her entire career as a committed, caring teacher at the Gabriel Abbott Memorial School in Florida, MA.

Carole's first car was a red Volkswagen Beetle in which she travelled many, many miles exploring New England and taking trips to Hampton Beach. As Carole's tastes and budget matured, she proudly drove a series of muscle cars. Hitting the road for a long or short adventure always made Carole happy.

Carole enjoyed being an aunt and sharing time with the family. She enriched many lives through shared experiences. Carole took a lot of pride in selecting a special dessert to make people smile at family gatherings. She also was the one who would purchase that perfect prom gown, pair of hockey skates, or tennis racket for her family members. She always knew just what would make each person happy. "Auntie Homeslice" was often a participant in the mischievous antics of her nieces and nephews, always providing entertainment for everyone.

Carole was fiercely proud of her hometown, North Adams. She loved going to the library regularly, never missed a Fall Foliage Parade with the family, and enjoyed visiting the Legion and other local gathering places with friends or family.

Honoring Carole's wishes, there will be no public services. Instead, Carole asked that people who want to remember her in a special way should do that by eating a picnic lunch on the top of Mt.
