Wolfgang Peters, 87

CLARKSBURG, Mass. —  Wolfgang Willi Peters, 87 of Clarksburg, MA died Tuesday April 20, 2021 at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Pausin, Germany on October 26, 1933, a son of Willy Otto Peters and Agnes (Gaule) Peters. He attended schools in Germany and came to the United States as a young man. Wolfgang was a very proud veteran of the US Air Force.

He was last employed by Williams College where he worked for about 15 years until his retirement. Before that, he worked at General Cable for many years. Wolfgang enjoyed collecting stamps and was a member of the Mohawk Stamp Club. He also enjoyed photography, gardening, bird watching; having coffee with his good friend, Bill; and supplying his grandkids with Starbursts.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Peters, whom he married on September 3, 1960 and two daughters- Linda J. Babeu of Georgetown, MA and Mary P. (Gus) Giron of Clarksburg, MA and one son- Michael W. Peters of North Adams. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren including Stacy Picone, Christopher Peters, Timothy Babeu Jr., Christopher Piscioneri, Zachary Giron, Megan Peters, Joshua Giron, Taylor Giron, and Maya Giron; four great grandchildren including Vince, Jake, Sean and Nora; and three nephews in Germany- Bernd, Manfred and Detlef and their families. His son, Walter Peters died in infancy and two brothers are also deceased- Alfred and Walter.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A private graveside service for Wolfgang Peters will be held in Southview Cemetery.
