Marie A. Wood

Marie A. Wood, 88, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Hurlburt Road, died Sunday at Leesburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Jan. 29, 1913, daughter of Albert and Mary Klarman Heiserer, she graduated from schools there. Mrs. Wood moved to Great Barrington in 1948 and worked for the late Spence Logan in the operation of the former Jug End Barn. She was an office manager for the former Palmer Lines Trucking Co. until the late 1980s, when she retired and moved to Leesburg. She and her husband, Melvin B. Wood, were married Dec. 31, 1965, in Copake, N.Y. He died Feb. 26, 1995. She leaves a daughter, Bobbie Wood VanDeusen of Alford; two grandsons, and two great-granddaughters.
