Mark Blanchard, 66

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Mark Dawson Blanchard, 66, of North Adams died on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mark was born on August 1, 1954 a son of the late Robert & Arlene (Moran) Blanchard. He attended local schools, and graduated from Drury High School. Mark worked for many years at Crane & Company in North Adams and Dalton. He was both a press operator and supervisor during his time employed. Mark enjoyed golfing with his friends and daughter. He was a member at Waubeeka Golf Links for many years and later became a member at Stamford Valley Golf Course. Mark was known for his quick wit, joking personality and kindness. He was very loved and will be missed by many.

Mark is survived by his daughter, Melanie Blanchard of San Diego, CA, and his siblings, including, Patricia Girard, Lynne Tanguay, Nancy Walter, Judy Southgate, Roberta Callebaut, Mary DeMarsico, Robert Blanchard Jr, and Lance Blanchard.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A service to celebrate the life of Mark Blanchard will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home –WEST Chapel 521 West Main St. North Addams, MA 01247. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-6 PM. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home. From growing up in the same apartment building to raising hell and partying there was never a dull moment with Mark. Cruising in the green VW was always an event then life got in the way but whenever we saw each other we always had a good laugh. Although it has been decades since we last spoke, I remember Mark well from our childhood days on the Johnson School playground and neighborhood. We had many happy times during that period. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace.
